CLAUDE
MARKS (1916-1991) was an artist, stage designer, writer
and lecturer. He was born in London and studied painting
and stage design in Paris, Fontainebleau and Salzburg. His
work has been exhibited regularly in New York and London,
and examples can be found in New York's Metropolitan Museum
(where he was a longtime lecturer on art), the Brooklyn
Museum, the New York Public Library, the Detroit Institute
of Art, and in many private collections. He died in New
York where he had lived for many years.
