“[In]
Anthony Shaffer’s compelling play ... there are several coups
de théâtre of a brilliance expected from the author
of Sleuth...”
~ Mark Sanderson,
Time Out
"It
is Shaffer's special gift that he can lead an audience up a dramatic
cul-de-sac, and then surprise them by finding an ingenious exit
no-one could suspect was there... he succeeds in gripping our attention
with vice-like efficiency."
~
Milton Shulman, London Evening Standard
“This
Savage Parade explores the oft-made claim that the state of
Israel is in danger of becoming as fascist in its way as the Third
Reich...”
~ Paul Taylor,
Independent
“[Shaffer]
has used the genre of the mystery thriller to present intelligent
and serious argument about such vast concepts as justice, morality
and faith ... This thoughtful and at times exciting play deserves
to attract a wide audience.”
~ Charles Osborne,
Daily Telegraph
